Made to celebrate the August 2017 Solar Eclipse, which cast its shadow all across the continental US.

I only got to see the partial eclipse in 2017-- flat tire the night before dashed all my plans-- but I got a second chance in 2024. I watched that eclipse from a park in a small farming town; the high school science teacher and some of his students sent up a weather balloon for the event, a couple local artists had put together a craft fair kinda deal with a food truck and all, and a very nice gent gave out some free eclipse stickers he had made.

It was a lovely time: food, fun, lawn-blanket seating, and then-- a brush with the transcendental.

It was like nothing else I've ever seen. If you have the chance, someday, to see an eclipse, do it!
