NUMISMATICS (nü-məz-ˈma-tiks). noun. The study or collection of coins, paper currency, and medals.

My biggest Xstitch Mag piece! The theme of the issue was 'Fortune', and man, is it fun to design with a theme.

Everything pictured is some form of historical currency: coins, paper money, gold dust (and a weight to weigh it against), cowrie shells, and knife money.

(My favorite is the little goldweight-- what a cutie!)

This piece is a shiny one; lots of metallic thread to glisten in in the light, and honestly? Not as hard to stitch with as people say. Still a bit of a pain, though, especially if you try and use long lengths of it. But it looks absolutely lovely when the light hits it!
