nudibranchs

When I was a tiny little girl, I used to wrap myself up in my 'My Little Pony' sleeping bag and scoot around on the ground, pretending to be a 'Nudibrang'. I think I must have seen them in a picture book, or a special on PBS, and their bright colors and Muppetlike appearance captured my imagination. Their charm is just as undeniable now that I'm an adult-- though I show my appreciation slightly differently nowadays!

This set of nudibranchs was stitched for Xstitch Magazine's 'Cute' issue. The species pictured are Flabellina verrucosa (orange), Chromodoris kuniei (yellow), and Chromodoris willani (pony-sleeping-bag blue).
