microraptor

Microraptor: a small little dinosaur, not much bigger than a crow. It lived in what is now northeastern China, and hunted birds, fish, and small mammals.

It's famous for its beautiful wings: we know it had four of them, with feathers covering both its arms and its legs, and we know the color, too! Microraptor was a glossy, iridescent black, like a starling or grackle. It was a beautiful dinosaur, and was a joy to draw and stitch here. :)

As of the making of this pattern, Microraptor's exact flight posture is still being debated, so the pose is speculative.
