I imagine just about every fractal fan has made a Koch-Snowflake-actual-snowflake at some point, and I'm no exception. :) The white bits-- including the border-- also glow in the dark!
This pattern shows the fourth iteration of the Koch Snowflake, a particularly famous fractal-- one of the first ones ever described! The fractal starts as an equilateral triangle, but with each iteration it begins to look more and more like a bristling snowflake, hence its name.
The first two photos are both by Stacy Kempe, Xstitch Magazine's photographer; this pattern was made as an ornament for Xstitch's Christmas issue.
