And the cycle of the seasons turns around again--

This design was inspired by the botanical photography of Masumi Shiohara, as well as by the birds that nest in the awning above my work-- each year they build nests, lay eggs, hatch, and grow from chicks to fledglings to birds, repeating their little cycle as the trees around them follow their own, longer cycle. And my coworkers and I go along our own medium cycle, I suppose.

This pattern was one of the nineteen in the Big Bird Bundle put together by Sprouting Lupine (go Kat! you rock!); stitchers would make a $12 donation to the Audubon Society to get the entire flock of patterns.
