An experiment in blackwork (well-- colorwork, I suppose--) done for a charity project!

This bookmark shows how changing different pieces of a sine equation would affect its graph, as well as giving a nod to how a sine wave can be found in a circle. The different pieces of the equation are color-matched to the portion of the graph they affect-- the amplitude of it (A, in red), its period (B, in pale blue), phase shift (C, in green), and its vertical shift (D, in purple).

The bookmark was made for Spellbound Stitches Vol. 3, a collection of bookmark patterns organized by Amanda DeLong of BadStitch. A whole crew of artists made bookmark patterns to raise money for literacy charities-- $27,000 in total!

Now that the fundraiser has closed, there isn't currently a way to get this pattern, but if you're someone that's interested in it, drop me an ask on tumblr and I'll see about figuring out getting it up again.
